B. Instructions:
Before installation, connect instruments together using the Bench Test cable set.
Connect both power cables to a 12 volt standard glider battery.
Verify correct operation of all instruments.
Note:
There are two ways to connect power to the GPS-NAV.
a. When the black (-), and red (+) wires are used, the GPS-NAV is
always ON.
b. When black (-), and green (+) wires are used, the GPS-NAV ON switch
is used.
c. With green wire, the L-NAV also turns GPS-NAV ON and OFF (after 30
sec.)
Follow the instructions enclosed with the Connector Tool for proper use..
The connector is properly crimped when the tool makes TWO loud clicks! Do not be afraid to
apply considerable force when crimping..
Note the location of the BLACK wire on the 4-pin power connector. ALL 4-pin
connectors must have the wires orientated in this manner.
For standard 6-wire cables, put the connector tab on the "ribbed" seam side of
the cable.
Leave at least 20 cm extra cable at each end, this allows for connector replacement.
Test all 6-wire cables before connecting instruments. Standard cables make the tester
display 3 green lights. The special "Reverse Plug" cable will display 3 red
lights. If the tester displays anything different, the connector was not installed
correctly. If one or more lights do not come on, try to re-crimp with greater force or
replace the one connector at a time. If the opposite color comes on, the wires were
inserted into the connector reversed. Use the 2 meter cable and 2-way modular coupler for
testing cables which go from front to back seat.
